Sam Pinzone
Executive Chef
After 6 months at Warrenmang, Sam Pinzone is feeling at home. You can feel the winds of change blowing strongly in the Pyrenees, and its a pleasant breeze they blow. Our young and ambitious brigade of chefs, Brunno, Sarah and Stewart, gently guided by Exec Chef Sam, have all settled contentedly into the tiny hamlet of Moonambel; Sam and the team are determined to make their mark and to breathe some exciting fresh air into the Warrenmang Kitchen.
With his Eurasian background showing through in his creative dishes, Sam's passion and joy when working with food is positively expressed daily in his dedication to creating delicious and visually beautiful dishes to please his guests.
"Since I was a child, I craved those flavours of sweet, sour, hot and salty, not just in Asian food, but in all foods, and I do believe the food I cook is truly Australian because of it. I can remember my first taste of a really beautiful rich spicy duck curry with pineapple and hints of ginger. To cook food you not only have to live and breathe it, as a chef,...you MUST love it". Sam Pinzone
Sam has worked at both Rockpool Bar & Grill and Jacques Reymond, he has had his training in the best of both worlds. The simplicity of Perry's dishes and the finesse of Jacques Reymond has given Sam experience beyond his tender years. Using the best produce available in the Pyrenees, Sam is bringing his love of cooking and the flavours of the region to the tables at Warrenmang Vineyard & Resort.
Kevin Buckle.
Maitre’D
WINNER OF THE 2011-2012 GOLDEN PLATE AWARD for outstanding service and excellence, Hospitality, front of house - Goldfields Region of Victoria.
Kevin Buckle has been one of Warrenmang's greatest assets for 20 years, and in the words of recent Swedish guests at Warrenmang on NYE 2008 "he makes the place!") Kevin has worked with various members of the Bazzani family since time immemorial... he worked with Paola Bazzani (Luigi's sister) and Mario (Luigi's brother) in their Melbourne restaurants in the 80's. He also worked with Luigi and Athalie for several years at their famous La Scala Restaurant in Ballarat. Kevin is a very important part of the Warrenmang family and well known for his wicked sense of humour... (we had to ask Kevin to wear a nametag recently to deter him from telling guests he was ‘Luigi” – it was all very confusing for our patrons unfamiliar with Kevin’s little jokes. He loves to share his humour with our guests as he offers them his personal brand of excellent service, combined with his trademark laugh which can be always be heard around the resort.
